Symmetries and Reversing Symmetries of Polynomial Automorphisms of the Plane

The polynomial automorphisms of the affine plane over a field K form a group which has the structure of an amalgamated free product. This well-known algebraic structure can be used to determine some key results about the symmetry and reversing symmetry groups of a given polynomial automorphism.

Topology Proceedings 45 (2015) pp. 175-187: Topological entropy for automorphisms of totally disconnected locally compact groups

We give a “limit-free formula” simplifying the computation of the topological entropy for topological automorphisms of totally disconnected locally compact groups. This result allows us to extend to our setting several basic properties of the topological entropy known for compact groups.
